Founded in 1993, the Fondation du Patrimoine Champerolain is a non-profit organization which:
- collects any and all documents having to do with Champery’s past. These documents are classified and stored in an archive center situated in the Maison de Commune, Champery’s City Hall. - ensures that this rich documentary history is available to the public in order to transmit the history and traditions of our region to future generations. - organizes events which bring the past to life and celebrate important historical happenings / occasions. - enriches the living memory or our region by making sound recordings of personal stories from our village past. Education, rural traditions, family life, politics, religion and emigration: the subjects of these fascinating living histories are many and diverse. - actively promotes and preserves Champery’s unique history and heritage.
Your memorabilia is priceless!
Hiding in the attic or packed away in boxes, you may have old documents, letters, photos or other items from Champery’s past… The Patrimoine would love to borrow them and make copies or take photographs before returning the precious originals to you. Your contributions will help to expand our knowledge and understanding of the past in Champery and Val-d’Illiez. Future generations will thank you!!
